Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the craniosacral system, which is made up of membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch, the therapist releases restrictions in the craniosacral system, which improves the functioning of the central nervous system.

By complementing the body's natural healing processes, craniosacral therapy is being used as a method of preventive health care to assist in the resistance to disease. Craniosacral therapy is also effective for a several medical conditions associated with pain and dysfunction, which include:

  • Migraine Headaches
  • Chronic Fatigue Stress and Tension-Related Problems
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Joint/Connective-Tissue Disorders
  • Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Orthopaedic Conditions
  • Spinal Conditions
  • TMJ Syndrome
  • Women's Health Disorders

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a specialized stretching technique used to treat patients with soft tissue conditions. Fascia is the thin tissue that covers every muscle and every fiber within each muscle. All muscle stretching stretches the fascia and the muscle, which is the myofascial unit. When muscle fibers are injured the fascia becomes short and tight. This can cause pain and a variety of other symptoms in areas throughout the body.

Myofascial Release treats these symptoms by releasing the uneven tightness in injured fascia. Myofascial Release can be effective in treating patients with many conditions, including:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • TMJ Syndrome
  • Orthopaedic Conditions
  • Spinal Conditions
