Our Functional Capacity Evaluation helps the team of employer, doctor, case manager, QRC and therapist make objective decisions relating to each individual workers compensation case.
The Graston technique has been used to treat both acute and chronic soft tissue conditions of the body such as tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, shoulder pain, knee pain, wrist and hand pain, back and neck pain, and post surgical scarring.
Treatments are usually once per week for six to twelve weeks and also include instruction in stretching, strengthening, and pain control such as icing.
Manual therapy is defined as the skillful use of the hands to mobilize/manipulate joints, massage and lengthen soft tissues, and to monitor and facilitate improved neuromuscular control. One strength of this approach is that it requires considerable one on one time between the therapist and patient.
Our objective for treatment is to improve the mechanics of movement, utilizing manual therapy techniques along with educating the patient regarding their condition and the likely prognosis for improvement.
PTOSI is now offering massage therapy at our Roseville clinic. Whether you are a current patient or have been treated by us in the past, massage therapy is a great way to help maintain health and achieve wellness.
Along with your home exercise program, good posture, body mechanics and healthy eating, therapeutic massage can be an effective way to stay feeling great.
Mechanical Link is a form of osteopathic treatment that addresses the entire body and every system. It was developed by Paul Chauffour, D.O., who lives and practices in France. Mr. Chauffour has developed and refined Mechanical Link for over 25 years and teaches his techniques all over the world.
Mechanical Link can be performed on anyone, from pregnant women, the smallest infant, to the most elderly. It addresses not only the whole body but also the whole person, physical, metal, and emotional. Mechanical Link can be very effective in improving conditions that have not responded well to conventional treatment.
The medical exercise program is appropriate for you if you are experiencing pain or injury and have been unable to return to your prior functional level following an injury.
This program works well for people prior to and after surgical procedures as well. This treatment is beneficial to you whether you have a newly diagnosed injury or a more chronic condition.
Your therapist or physician may recommend medical exercise to provide you with a structured physical reconditioning program needed to prepare you for a successful return to your activities.
PTOSI offers rehabilitation services for individuals with orthopaedic-related issues, which include bone fractures, joint replacement, osteoporosis, arthritis, hip and knee replacement, and tendon repair.
In addition, patients who have spinal conditions, including spinal stenosis, laminectomy, scoliosis and tumor can also benefit from rehabilitation.
All physical therapists at PTOSI have extensive postgraduate training which allows us to utilize different therapeutic techniques to efficiently and effectively treat acute and chronic injuries and conditions.
We will do our best to provide you manual therapy treatment, education and instruction in a specific exercise program to give you the tools to responsibly and confidently manage your condition.
PTOSI has physical therapists at each of our locations who work with athletes of all levels, casual weekend athletes to professional, to assist in rehabilitation and safe return to athletic activities and training.
Our therapists can assist you in developing a training program tailored to your sport.
We also have specialized golf and running programs, as well as expertise in treating professional and amateur soccer players. If you would like to schedule an evaluation, please contact the location most convenient for you.
Whether the musculoskeletal challenges of the childbearing and post-menopausal years gives rise to painful symptoms, problems with urinary incontinence, or pelvic floor pain and weakness, physical therapy can often provide relief.
For more information or to schedule, call the location most convenient to you.
The work conditioning program is appropriate for you if you have not succeeded in returning to work following a back injury, or have been unable to progress to full-time or full-duty as expected due to physical deconditioning following an injury.
Once you have received sufficient individual manual therapy to address the major mechanical problems identified at your evaluation, your therapist or physician may recommend the program to provide you with structured physical reconditioning needed to prepare you for a successful return to work.
